Amerinet was founded in June 1986 as a "purchasing cooperative" by a consortium of regional group purchasing organizations: - Amerinet Central, Warrendale, Pennsylvania - Intermountain Health Care, Salt Lake City, Utah - Vector, Providence, Rhode Island. These shareholder organizations and their network of regional affiliates are responsible for providing marketing and member support services to healthcare facilities throughout all fifty states. Over the years, Amerinet has grown to become one of the nation’s largest, most innovative and effective health care group purchasing organizations in the United States, partnering with members to improve their operating margins. More than 2,100 hospitals and 38,000 non-acute care facilities create new revenue and reduce expenses with Amerinet's tools for group purchasing, supply chain management, clinical consulting, revenue cycle management, and information and education. In order to meet the unique cost reduction needs of their members, Amerinet has developed the largest portfolio of group purchasing contracts available in the health care industry. Each facility or organization in our highly diverse membership has access to the complete contract offering, unless otherwise dictated by the contracted manufacturer. To ensure effectiveness, our product and service agreements are divided into twelve specific catagories: Administrative Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Environmental Services, Information Services, IV Solutions and Supplies, Laboratory, Medical Supplies, Nutrition, Office Supplies, Pharmacy, Plant Engineering and Surgical Supplies.
